Cribs and hotel rooms
My Mom subscribes to all kinds of email newsletters. She forwarded one to me and I started to really surf their site, reading all the articles they had posted. I read one article that got me to thinking. It was not something I would have normally thought about. The article dealt with crib safety and hotels. When you go on vacation with a child you might ask if the hotel has a crib. Sure, they might have a crib but it could be many years old and not up to the current US safety standards for cribs. If you have to travel with your infant or toddler and need to arrange for a crib in a hotel room, ask the hotel first if they have a crib, and then the age of the crib. Many hotels will have cribs that meet the latest safety standards. If you can’t find a hotel that has an appropriate crib, you might want to consider buying a travel crib or bringing your bassinet or play yard with you so you know your child has a safe place to stay. If the hotel has an appropriate crib, ask them if they provide linens for the crib. You might have to bring your own from home. Along with your own linens I’d pack some Lysol or Clorox wipes to kill any germs that might be on them.
