Time saving suggestions for your holiday preparations
With a little organization you can reduce your stress levels this holiday season. Start now with some of our organization tips.
Write it down. Be a list writer – it’s a great way to stay organized and on track. What should you include on your lists? How about shopping lists, Christmas card lists, menus, etc.
Don’t be afraid to delegate responsibilities. Get your family involved when decorating your home this Christmas. Have your children and spouse help you get the house ready as well. Older children can help with dusting, laundry and even shopping!
Shop online. By shopping online you can cut your shopping time in half or even more. Most stores like Target, WalMart and KBtoys
have web sites where you can purchase your holiday gifts. Try the site Overstock.com
to find unique items at great prices (and they often run specials on shipping costs). You can even have gifts shipped directly to out of town friends and family, saving time at the post office.
Plan ahead. After the holidays are over this year, take the time to put everything away in an organized manner. Take the extra few minutes to untangle the Christmas lights – you’ll be glad you did next year! Buy cards and wrapping paper when they go on sale after Christmas. If you find some great new recipes, put them in your cookbook to use them next year.
By creating some lists, planning ahead, shopping online and getting over your hesitation to delegate you can dramatically reduce your stress levels this Christmas season. Christmas is a time for enjoying family and friends, and not for worrying. With a little bit of organization you can take the time to enjoy the sites and festivities associated with the holiday season.
