Pregnancy Stress Relief Tips

It doesn’t matter who you are or the life you live - every pregnant woman experiences stress.  However, stress can be harmful for you during your pregnancy, so you want to try to avoid stress as much as possible.  If you are feeling stressed, here are a few quick and easy suggestions for reliving your stress.  However, stress should be avoided at all costs during your pregnancy.

Foot soak.  After a long day of work, a nice 15 minute foot soak will help to wipe away the day’s tension and stress.  Ask your partner or spouse to massage your feet after your relaxing soak.

Massage.  Consider making an appointment for a massage at your local spa.  A 30 minute massage is not only relaxing, but can also physically work out a lot of tension you’re your body.  It can help to relieve those pregnancy aches and pains.  Treat yourself to this luxury now – once the baby is born you won’t have the time to pamper yourself like this for a while! 

Manicure or pedicure.  Every woman feels better after getting pampered.  A manicure and pedicure might seem like a luxury, but it will help you to relax and feel better.  Your hands and feet will feel so much better after getting the royal treatment. 

Nap.  You might be experience fatigue during your pregnancy – if so, don’t fight it.  Take a 30 minute power nap when you need it during the day.  Your body is telling you to take a break – don’t ignore it!

Get a good night’s sleep.  While you might enjoy staying up late, it’s so much better on your body to get to bed early and get a good night’s rest.  Take a nice warm shower or curl up with a good book and watch the stress of the day start to fade.  Plus after you have the baby it will be a long time before you have a good night’s sleep again.  Take advantage of the time now to rest.
