A review of the Graco Glilder Travel System

Before my son was born, everyone told me to buy the combination car seat/stroller, usually known as a travel system. I think this was good advice, but be warned – if you do this, you may also need to purchase a light weight stroller.

We bought the Graco Glider Travel System. My son always seemed comfortable in the car seat as an infant. One of the positives of this system was we were able to buy an additional base – one for each car. The car seat locked in securely and I never worried about my baby’s safety, as the level indicator was easy to read. It has the 5-point adjustable harness and removable head support. It was easy to remove the seat cover to wash it.

The stroller itself was a good sturdy stroller with a tray for my child’s drink and toys and a drink holder for me as well. It reclined, with is important if you are out shopping and the baby wants to nap. The canopy top can protect the baby from the sun, but it has a plastic window so they don’t feel too closed in.

It was and still is a great stroller, but the only problem is the stroller itself is a bit bulky. It is 40.5 inches high and weighs almost 19 pounds. If I had it to do all over again, I could definitely compare the Graco Glilder Travel System to one of the more compact travel systems like the MetroLite. It is only a half-inch shorter, but weighs a pound less and seems to be less bulky. We did end up buying a small, cheap stroller once our son got a little older, but when he outgrew that one, we moved back to using the original Graco stroller. No doubt about it, you get your money’s worth with Graco!
