Recipe: Orange Vanilla Creamy Cake
When finished, this cake tastes just like an orange Creamsicle treat. I’ve asked for this cake numerous times for my birthday cake.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this cake:
- 1 box orange cake mix (prepared according to box directions)
- 2 packages orange Jell-O
- 1 package vanilla instant pudding
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 8 oz. container Cool Whip
Bake cake as directed in 9 X 13 inch pan. When the cake is finished, use a meat fork or the handle of wooden spoon to poke holes across the top of the entire cake. Allow the cake to cool completely.
In a bowl mix 1 box Jell-O, 1 cup hot water and 1 cup cold water. Pour over top of cake. Refrigerate cake for 2 – 3 hours.
Mix remaining box of Jell-O, pudding, milk and vanilla together in another bowl. Beat well. Fold Cool Whip into this mixture and spread on top of cake. Keep refrigerated.
Note: If you can’t find an orange cake mix, use a package of lemon cake mix and add 1 small envelope of orange Kool Aid to the batter.
